Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 5, 2026
1. Who we are
Prue (“Prue,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a conversational tarot and astrology app operated by SUPERSTAR Angel LLC. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies to our mobile app and our website.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account information. Your email address and a password (handled by our authentication provider), and optionally a name you choose to display.
- Birth and chart information. Your date of birth, time of birth, and place of birth. We use these to calculate your astrological chart. This information is optional, but some features will not work without it.
- Your conversations and readings. The questions you ask, the cards drawn, Prue’s responses, and any follow-ups. We store these so Prue can carry the thread between readings.
- Voice input. If you speak to Prue, we record the audio and send it to a third-party service to convert it to text. See “How readings are generated” below.
- Information about other people. If you mention other people in your readings (for example a partner, friend, or family member), the details you share become part of your conversation history. Please only share what you are comfortable storing, and avoid sharing other people’s sensitive information. See section 6.
Information collected automatically
- Subscription and purchase status. When you subscribe, our payments partners tell us which plan you hold and whether it is active. Your full payment-card details are handled by Apple (or the relevant app store) and are never received or stored by us.
- Device and usage information. Basic technical data such as app version, device type, and diagnostic or crash logs, used to keep the app working and to fix problems.
- Analytics. We use privacy-respecting product analytics to understand which features are used and how the app performs, so we can improve it. This includes events such as screens viewed and actions taken. We do not use this to build advertising profiles, and we do not enable session-replay recording of your screen. On our website we use a cookieless analytics tool that does not track you across other sites.
3. How we use your information
- To create and manage your account.
- To calculate your chart and generate readings, responses, and follow-ups.
- To remember your history so readings stay personal over time.
- To process subscriptions and provide access to paid features.
- To operate, maintain, secure, and improve the app.
- To respond to your support requests.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.
4. How readings are generated (AI and voice)
Prue’s replies are generated using third-party artificial intelligence services. We ask for your permission inside the app before we send anything to them for the first time, and we tell you there exactly what is sent and who receives it. Here is the same detail in full.
What we send to Anthropic
When you ask Prue something, we send Anthropic PBC (the maker of Claude) the text of your question and follow-ups, the cards on the table, the display name you chose, and your sun, moon, and rising signs. On continuing conversations we also send the earlier turns of that reading so Prue can keep the thread. We send the same kinds of information when Prue summarizes a past reading or notices a pattern across several of them. We do not send Anthropic your email address, your password, your exact birth time or birth address, your payment details, or your device identifiers.
What we send to ElevenLabs
Voice is optional and off until you use it. If you speak to Prue, we send the audio recording of your voice to ElevenLabs Inc. to be converted to text. If you listen to Prue, we send the text of her reply to ElevenLabs to be converted to speech. Your recording is used only to produce the transcript and is not kept on our servers afterwards. The resulting text is saved as part of your conversation history.
What we send to LocationIQ
When you search for your place of birth, we send the text you type to LocationIQ so it can suggest matching places and return coordinates for your chart. This is not tied to your account.
Training and protection
Anthropic and ElevenLabs receive this information as our service providers, under commercial terms that require them to protect it to a standard equal to our own, to use it only to provide the service back to us, and not to sell it. Neither provider uses information sent through our business account to train its models by default. Each provider deletes or de-identifies the data on its own retention schedule.
You can decline. If you do not want your information sent to these providers, do not accept the AI notice in the app, and Prue will not be able to give readings. You can withdraw permission later under Settings, and you can delete your account at any time.
Prue is an AI, not a human reader or a licensed professional. Readings are for reflection and entertainment and are not professional advice. See our Terms of Service.
5. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the app, and only as needed to provide their service. These include:
- Supabase for hosting, database, and authentication (to store your account and data securely).
- Anthropic to generate readings, follow-ups, and the summaries and patterns Prue draws across your past readings.
- ElevenLabsto transcribe your voice input to text and to convert Prue’s replies to speech.
- LocationIQ to look up your place of birth and its coordinates.
- Apple and RevenueCat to process and verify subscriptions and purchases.
- Resend to send account emails such as sign-in confirmations and password resets.
- Sentry for crash and error diagnostics, and PostHog for product analytics.
- Expo to deliver push notifications to your device, if you turn them on.
- Vercel for website hosting and cookieless website analytics.
Each of these providers is bound by a written agreement that requires them to safeguard your information to a standard equal to or greater than our own, to process it only on our instructions and only to provide their service to us, and not to sell it or use it for their own purposes. We review these terms before we add a provider, and we keep this list current with what the app actually does.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or users’ safety, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
6. Information about other people
Prue works best when you talk openly, and people often mention others in their readings. Anything you share about another person is stored as part of your own conversation history and is used only to provide your readings. We ask that you do not share another person’s sensitive information (for example health, sexuality, or precise location) and that you only share what you have a right to share. You can remove this content by deleting the relevant conversation or your account.
7. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the app. When you delete your account, we permanently delete your profile, chart details, conversations, and readings, except where we are required to retain certain records by law. Backups are purged on a rolling schedule.
8. Your rights and choices
- Access and correction. You can view and edit your name, birth details, and other profile information in the app.
- Deletion. You can permanently delete your account and associated data at any time from Settings → Delete account.
- Marketing. You can opt out of any promotional messages we send.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the EU/UK GDPR or the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to access, correct, delete, or port your data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at the address below. We will not discriminate against you for exercising them.
9. Security
We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information, including encryption in transit and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Children
Prue is not directed to children under 13. You must be at least 13 years old to use Prue, and if you are under 18 you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
11. International users
We operate in the United States and may process your information there and in other countries where our service providers operate. These countries may have data-protection laws that differ from those in your country. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Your continued use of Prue after an update means you accept the revised policy.
